Organize a Film Screening

Work with your class to organize a film screening. First, draw on previous experiences with movies and film screenings. What makes a movie or a movie screening successful? Why do people organize screenings? Think about the purpose of the screening organized by your class. Communicate to figure out an issue or topic you want to focus on as a class. Use Google+ polls to propose movies and get feedback from the class. After a consensus is formed, teacher can help assign roles for groups to participate in the screening. One group can organize refreshments, another can prepare follow-up questions after the film, another group can be responsible for getting a copy of the film and setting up the projector, etc. etc. After the screening, Ss could work together to share a blog post about the screening and keep the discussion going about the film. They could also send their blog post to the film makers and see if they get a response.
