Make A Lesson for Friends and Family

The goal is for students to share what they have learned in an English and computer lab classes with friends, family, and community members. To prepare, students would reflect on what they know, want to know, and what they have learned (KWL). Teachers will help guide students to a technology or English topic they will investigate in depth. The topic could be one of the units or themes already studied. Students would choose a web 2.0 platform for their lessons, thinking critically about their own learning goals and their intended audience. Students will pilot the lessons with their peers and get feedback. Finally, Ss would share the lesson with friends, family, and their other communities at large (e.g. other adult immigrants, faith communities, other schools, and the DC community at large.)
